GENREAL   INFO:
        The "Indian Institute of Astrophysics" organises the Summer Project  Programme for the students entering the final year of M.Sc./B.E.,in which they work under the supervisors at I.I.A. on short term projects in various fields related with astronomy.This selection for this programme is solely on the basis of the academic record of the applicant.The approximate duration is in between six to eight weeks. The accomodation is provided by the institute.
FACILITIES :
      Facilities for students are  extremely good . Not only you have sports facilities but also if you wish to study you have a good library and computer centre. So guys & gals , you  should  come here & have FUN !!!  But keep one thing in mind  that you are supposed to study also.
The library timings are from 9:00 am  to 5:30 pm. The library has books on Astro(nomy/ physics)  {that is extremely obvious}, maths  & computer stuff. It also has all Magazines & Journals.The computer centre remains open  for 24 hours a day & 7 days a week of every month. OK, look,  if you are feeling  sleepy at any of these places you should  go to Coffee Lounge.
       Now here comes the most important info,  sports facilities and recreation. You can play cricket , badminton , TT , chess, carroms,  & cards if you wish.The choice is all yours!
ABOUT   THE   STUDENTS:
 
    This year i.e. during the summer of 2000, there assembled from all over the country, nine students, doing various projects under their respective supervisors. Thus we nine enjoyed our stay at IIA from 16th May to 16th July 2000. A brief intro of ours is given in the table below :
